I have lived here in South China, Maine since 1973. When purchased, "Our Farm Home", was certainly one that needed lots of tlc. In spite of that need... it wasn't long before cochins and racing homers found a place in our barn. My bachelors degree from USM in Biology (with a large helping of genetics) helped me turn a pair of cochins into a life long ambition of breeding and showing. Those 30 years have included much in terms of animal (bird) husbandry. If raising cochins wasn't enough, during those years I have been involved with the following: Racing of Homing Pigeons Breeding & Showing Reg. Polled Hereford Cattle Breeding & Showing Fantail Pigeons Breeding Suffolk Sheep Breeding & Showing Nubian Dairy Goats Breeding Australian Parrots Breeding Canaries and Exotic Finches Hybridizing TB Irises and Daylilies Yes, I have had a very full and busy life... but now that I'm retired, it is time to "simplify" my life and I am concentrating on gardening, breeding and flying "Rare Colored" Homing Pigeons, breeding and showing Modena Pigeons and of course continue to work with my Cochins. Our web pages are as follows: Modena page under construction The support from my beautiful bride, Sharon, has been without reproach!
